Dans le Noir ? is a concept like no other: enjoy a surprise menu in total darkness, served by unexpected guides. This original idea is offered inside the Radisson Blu Hotel in Nantes. But darkness alone is not what makes the experience truly exceptional...

Step out of your comfort zone

For some of our guests, stepping into a pitch-black room can be a bit unsettling. If you ever feel unsure or anxious, the key is often to let go and trust our amazing guide-servers… Once seated at your table with your plates in front of you, a true sensory journey begins. Foods you thought you recognized may seem unfamiliar or completely new. What feels novel might actually be something you’ve always known. When you leave the room and finally discover what you ate, it’s often a real surprise!

Unexpected encounters

Beyond the tastes, smells, and textures, it’s also the human connections that make this moment so special. Our current team includes 7 guide-servers: Cindy, Maxime, Bathie, Ousmane, Marine, Arafa, and Mahdia. People often ask how they manage to serve in the dark - the answer is simple: they are blind or visually impaired. Who better to guide you through the dark than those who navigate it daily? They become your light, especially when describing what’s in front of you as you settle at your table. The roles are reversed - they are the ones helping you in this unfamiliar environment.

In the dark, there's no judgment. Maybe you’ll talk to someone you never would have outside of this setting, or rediscover your partner in a new way. Darkness frees up conversation or maybe you’ll realize you prefer silence to fully connect with your senses. You might even want to get to know your table neighbors better and exchange contacts. It happens often!
