Dans le Noir ? is a unique concept: enjoy a surprise menu in total darkness, served by unexpected guides. An original idea proposed at the Radisson Blu hotel in Nantes. But it's not just the darkness that makes the experience exceptional...

Step out of your comfort zone

For our guests, it can sometimes be disconcerting to enter a room plunged into total darkness. If you ever have a moment of doubt or stress, the secret is often to let go and let our fantastic waiter-guides guide you... Once you're seated at your table and the dishes are in front of you, a true sensory experience begins... Foods you thought you were (re)familiar with may seem strange, unfamiliar, different. What seems new may be very familiar. It's when you leave the room that you discover what's on your plate, and then it's often a shock!

Unexpected encounters

But beyond the tastes, smells and sensations, it's also the encounters that make this moment so special. Our team currently consists of 4 guides: Cindy, Havva, Ringo and Salma. We're often asked how they manage to serve in the dark, and the answer is simple: they're visually impaired or blind. So who better than people who live in a certain darkness to evolve in this environment. They become your guiding light, describing what's in front of you as you settle in at the table. The roles are then reversed: they're the ones who help you in this new environment.

In the dark, no judgments, maybe you'll meet new people you'd never talk to in any other context, rediscover your partner... The darkness will help you free your speech, or on the contrary, you'll realize that you need quiet to connect with your senses. Perhaps you'll want to find out more about your table-mates and exchange contacts. It happens all the time!
